Proposals for Moore

City Counter As of: 12-Jul-07

Article XVII - Wages

* City agrees with 4.34% wage increase or COLA.

* City agrees with one time additional payment of 2.5% for those employees at top step.

* This is for employees that have reached the top step of the pay range as of 6-30-07.

* This payment will be made in lump sum in December 2007.

* Counter proposal to Shift Differential pay - City proposes no change here.

* Shift differential pay is difficult to administer and those working baker or charlie shifts agree to that when hired.

* Counter proposal to On-Call pay - City proposes a flat monthly amount for each employee on call.

 

Estimated cost is $8,700 plus benefits equals $10,000.

AFSCME LOCAL 2406 MOORE CHAPTER

A meeting for the nomination of the following Officers for the Moore Chapter of Local 2406:

Chapter Chair- the Chapter Chair will be the top official for the Moore Chapter. The Chair will have a voting seat* on the Executive Board of Local 2406. (3-year term)

Vice President- the Vice President will assist the President with Chapter duties and will fill in for the Chair when needed. (3-year term)

Secretary- the Secretary will be responsible for taking minutes of Chapter meetings and all record keeping for the Chapter. (3-year term)

* Chapter Officers will take office immediately following a vote of the membership. The Chair will not have a vote on the 2406 E-Board until membership is activated after contract is signed.

Requirements for nominations

* Nominations can only be made by a current eligible employee of the city of Moore and a Member of AFSCME

* Those nominated for Officer must be a current eligible employee of the city of Moore and a Member of AFSCME

* Either nominator and/or nominee may join the Union at this meeting.

* If you cannot attend this meeting you may ask an eligible member to make the nomination for you at the meeting.

If you feel that one of your co-workers would provide leadership by filling one of the open Officers positions, attend this meeting and nominate them. Please ask them if they are interested in accepting the nomination before you make it. The persons elected to office will receive AFSCME Leadership Training to ensure that they are able to perform the duties as best they possibly can.

AFSCME Stewards are the backbone of the Union. The Steward provides leadership in the workplace, assistance with problems at work and enforcement of your contract. The Moore Chapter of AFSCME Local 2406 needs members to receive training and serve as Shop Stewards in their work areas.
